School Aged Program

Pitter-Patter has a before and after school program designed for children from the age of 5 through 10 years of age. We currently have busing to Oakland School in Antioch District 34, BJ Hooper School in Lake Villa District 41, and Millburn Elementary School District 24. Students who attend other schools can enroll in our program but would be responsible for their own mode of transportation to and from the center.

Pitter-Patter understands that students have very busy days at their individual elementary school.  We want to provide them a fun but relaxing place to go to when their school day is done.  The teachers provide a variety of activities, such as art and crafts, imaginative play, outside time, etc. Students are given their own space to complete their homework if they choose as well.

Snack is included on school days and is given once they return off the bus.

On days off of school or extended breaks, students follow a schedule that is often lead by their interests. Pitter-Patter loves to see childrens minds grow in fields that they are interested in and we are happy to supply the materials needed to keep curiosity alive.  We continue this thought process when planning field trips and other special events during the year. Pitter-Patter truly believes that all ages deserve respect and the attention they need.  We want the before and after school care children to feel like they are a part of the planning and not just a participant.  This is their time to grow and learn; we are here to guide them and to ensure their safety while in our care.

Hot lunch is included on days when the kids attend Pitter-Patter all day.

The First Day of School is always so exciting! We love our daily bus stop chats with the big kids.

Our school-aged classroom will frequently visit the neighborhood park just down the street. We call it "The Blue Park!"

When the weather cooperates we enjoy taking walks around the neighborhood to explore and learn new concepts!
